Nile Rodgers denies New York Daft Punk concert

Nile Rodgers has said that Daft Punk will not be playing his charity concert next month in New York.

The Chic man took to Facebook to write: "To be totally clear, Daft Punk is not playing at my charity event."

Rodgers recently announced plans for a one-day music festival in New York. Writing at NileRodgers.com, he said that he will be hosting the first Nile Rodgers Dance Party on August 19 at the Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead, New York.

When discussing the surprise line-up for the event, he wrote that the concert takes place around the same time as the release of the next Daft Punk single. "There's going to be me, my band Chic, and some of the hottest acts and surprises on the planet that day... which happens to be around the time the next Daft Punk single drops (I'm just saying)."

Nile Rodgers also recently revealed that Daft Punk will help him finish recording songs he made with Chic and had previously thought were lost. The veteran songwriter and producer, who most recently has topped the charts alongside Daft Punk with 'Get Lucky', said that he has found a number of old Chic songs and that he is hoping to finish work on them before releasing them to the public.

Speaking to DJAZZtv, Rodgers confirmed that Daft Punk are keen to help him finish the songs. "Daft Punk wants to do at least one of them with me, so that should be very cool. Because they respect the music, they understand."

Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers Will Collaborate Again

'Random Access Memories' partners to pair again on unreleased Chic material

Nile Rodgers will be collaborating with Daft Punk again to complete previously unreleased Chic and solo material, he has revealed. Rodgers, the Chic guitarist and dance music pioneer, loaned his talents to Daft Punk on their Random Access Memories hit "Get Lucky," which he helped write and record.

Rodgers told DJAZZtv that he recently discovered unreleased masters in the Warner Music tape library that include personal solo tracks, film scores and Chic material, along with "Chic tracks that were not designed for any project except for the guys working with me writing songs," he explained. The guitarist/producer says that he plans to finish and release some of the tracks and that Daft Punk will be part of the process.

"Daft Punk wants to do at least one of them with me, so that should be very cool," Rodgers said. "Because they respect the music. They understand."

Daft Punk Get Lucky With Their Own Condoms

It was only a matter of time before someone seized the opportunity to use Daft Punk's ubiquitous "Get Lucky" in a marketing campaign for a sex-related product. According to NME, Durex has apparently teamed up with Daft Punk to make a "Get Lucky" brand of condoms, imprinted with the Daft Punk logo and that now-famous image of Daft Punk, Pharrell, and Nile Rodgers in front of a blazing sun.

It's unclear if the condoms will be available to the general public, but Durex has apparently been sending promotional packages to DJs. Diplo, for instance, posted the above photo on Instagram last night, captioned with: "Thank god I had those daft punk condoms last night".

Nile Rodgers says he's interested in touring with Daft Punk

Nile Rodgers has revealed he is interested in touring with Daft Punk.

The Chic legend co-wrote and plays on the French duo's massive hit 'Get Lucky' as well as two other tracks from their Number One album 'Random Access Memories': 'Give Life Back To Music' and 'Lose Yourself To Dance'.

He performed with Chic at Glastonbury Festival on Friday (June 28) but quashed hopes that Daft Punk might be playing a secret set during the three-day bash at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

However, he told the Daily Star on Saturday (June 29): "I'd love to come back. What I did with Daft Punk was so special I refuse to do it live without them. If they want to plan something I would seriously listen. Whether that's a tour or taking shows to the next level they can call me."

Earlier this month (June), Rodgers revealed he was asked an unusual question by Madonna when he was producing her 1984 album 'Like A Virgin'. "I was standing at an elevator when she goes, 'Why don't you want to fuck me?'", Rodgers recalled, speaking to The Sun.

"I was like, 'What did you just say to me?' She was wondering why I had not propositioned her. She couldn't understand that. It was like, 'Everybody wants me'."
